This Champagne was already considered one of the best in the world in 1916. That’s why a shipment was being sent to the Russian Imperial family. However, the boat was sunk by German submarines,this was during World War I, after all ,the champagne sat at the bottom of the North Atlantic until 1998. That year, about 2,000 bottles were recovered.They have been sold at auctions all over the world as an historic novelty and one of them reportedly sold for an incredible price of $275,000 making it the world's most expensive Champagne till date.
